About this event
Artificial intelligence is rapidly becoming embedded in library platforms, educational resources, research tools and discovery systems. As institutions evaluate these technologies, librarians are increasingly responsible for understanding how AI systems work and how they align with institutional priorities around learning, research, ethics and user trust.
Much of the conversation about AI focuses on possibilities. Libraries also have to weigh practical questions about transparency, accuracy, privacy, bias, governance, procurement, sustainability and long-term value. More and more, institutions want AI that is transparent, meaningful and integrated into existing workflows rather than offered as a standalone experimental feature.
This virtual Charleston Conference session brings librarian and industry perspectives together. Jonathan Woahn, CXO and co-founder of Cashmere, joins Matthew Ragucci of Wiley and Michael Meth, Dean of Libraries at San José State University, with Roger Strong of JoVE moderating. Rather than treating AI as a trend, the panel looks at the frameworks, questions and considerations that help libraries make informed decisions while supporting responsible innovation.
Earlier the same day, Woahn presents Cashmere at the Charleston Premiers, which Michael Meth moderates.
The session is part of the Charleston Conference virtual program and is open to registered attendees. Leave your email here and we will send you a reminder before it starts.
